What is my username and password?

If you’re registered with Evergreen in the past, simply enter the username and password you created the first time you logged in. Ifyou’re a new Evergreen student, select which class you’d like to take from the home page and follow the prompts for registration.

What if I forget my password?

Click the “Forgot Username/Password?” link below the log in box on the homepage.

Will my spouse and I have different usernames and passwords to log into the website?

Yes, you and your spouse can take the class together but you will have separate usernames and passwords.

Will my attorney receive a copy of my certificate?

During registration, you’ll have the option to enter your attorney’s email address. We will send your attorney a certificate the same time we send you yours. If you’ve received your certificate you can be rest assured your attorney does as well.

When will I get my certificate?

After you’ve finished your course, a counselor will generate your certificate of completion, upload it onto your account, and send it according to your preferences. This can happen as soon as 5 minutes, but no later than same business day. If you are in an emergency filing situation, feel free to call us at 1(800)581-3513 and we’ll expedite your certificate.

What if I originally wanted the certificate mailed to me but now I changed my mind and want it emailed or faxed?

Simply email us your request at info@evergreenclass.com and we will email or fax it to you and/or your attorney

What if I want an additional copy of my certificate at a later time?

You may log in to your account with your username/password and download a copy of your certificate. Or you can always email or call us with any requests.

Why do I have to take a credit counseling course?

The new Bankruptcy Act enacted by Congress requires individuals filing Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy to complete a credit counseling course BEFORE filing bankruptcy and prior to receiving their bankruptcy discharge. Our Credit Counseling class meets this requirement.

When do I take the Credit Counseling course?

You need to take the course and receive a certificate of completion in order to file for your bankruptcy. You cannot file for bankruptcy without a certificate of completion.

Why do I have to take a personal financial management or debtor education course?

The new Bankruptcy Act enacted by Congress requires individuals filing Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy to complete an instructional course in personal financial management AFTER filing bankruptcy and prior to receiving their bankruptcy discharge. Our Financial Management class meets this requirement.

When do I take the personal financial management or debtor education course?

You should take this course AFTER you file bankruptcy. The law requires that you take this course within 45 days after your 341 Meeting.

How can I take my post-bankruptcy debtor education (or personal financial management) course?

We offer post-bankruptcy debtor education (or personal financial management) online or over the telephone. Evergreen is approved to issue certificates evidencing completion of a personal financial management instructional course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of a Provider’s services.

Is Evergreen Financial Counseling approved to issue certificates of completion?

Yes. Evergreen Financial Counseling is approved to issue certificates evidencing completion of credit counseling or personal financial management instructional courses in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of the provider's services.

What are the benefits of using Evergreen Financial Counseling?

Evergreen Financial Counseling offers a "no hassle" approach to individuals wanting to meet their bankruptcy education requirements to satisfy the new bankruptcy law. We are not interested in offering debt management software, credit offers, or other manipulative credit scams. We are here to help you--help you get it done, and help you move on.

How much does the course cost?

The course is $19.99 per person/couple for the internet or $29.99 via live telephone counselor.

How will I pay for the course?

You or your attorney may pay online by debit card, credit card, or paypal, or you can mail in a check/money order to our PO box.

Can my attorney pay for the course?

Yes.

What if I cannot afford to pay for the course?

Individuals demonstrate need for a fee waiver in part if their household current income is less than 150 percent and above 100 percent of the poverty guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the authority of 42 U.S.C. 9902(2), as adjusted from time to time. These individuals automatically qualify for $5 off the regular course price. Individuals demonstrate need for a fee waiver in full if their household current income is less than 100 percent of the poverty guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the authority of 42 U.S.C. 9902(2), as adjusted from time to time. Full fee waivers may be rebutted, and Evergreen may offer a $5 off regular course price discount instead, if Evergreen determines based on income information the client submits in connection with counseling services, that the client is able to pay the fee in a reduced amount, as pursuant to 28 C.F.R. §§ 58.21 (b)(1)(ii). Notification: At the conclusion of their course, Evergreen Financial Counseling will inform individual that they may qualify for a fee waiver in part or whole. In order to fully verify individual’s financial situation, Evergreen Financial Counseling will request a copy of individual’s most recent paystubs or W2s, as well as a copy of their most recent tax return.

Where can I take the course?

You may take the course from any location with internet or telephone access such as your home, your office, your attorney's office, a public library or an internet cafe. The internet course is available to you at any time, 24 hours a day.

Once I've started the course, can I stop and start the course again at a later time?

Yes. You can start, stop and save your course whenever you like and log in and out as many times as you need. You can go at your own pace.

What information will I need to provide to register for a course?

Your full name
The district you filed your bankruptcy case in
Your bankruptcy case number (For the Personal Financial Management Course)
Your address
Your phone number
Your attorney's name and email (if you are represented by an attorney) Verification that you are actually the person taking this course.

In a joint bankruptcy case, does my spouse have to take the course separately?

No! The cost is the same for single or joint and you can register and take the class together. Just make sure you create two usernames/passwords during registration.
